Robust Optimal Operation of Electric Hydrogen Coupled Systems with Consideration of Renewable Energy Uncertainties

Electric hydrogen coupled systems (EHCS) as the new form of electrical system have emerged in the context of the energy transition. Renewable energy uncertainties, particularly for wind turbine (WT) and photovoltaic (PV) output, bring a tremendous challenge to the optimal operation of the EHCS. To better study the optimal operation of the EHCS with consideration of WT and PV output uncertainties, this paper proposes a robust optimal model of the EHCS to explore the optimal operation scheduling scheme. Firstly, the model of the EHCS is established. Secondly, the WT and PV output uncertainties are modelled and a robust optimal model of the EHCS is established. Finally, this paper adopts the C&CG algorithm to solve the robust optimal model and sets the ‘uncertainty adjustment parameter (UAP)‘ to control the conservatism of the scheduling scheme. Simulations are conducted to verify that the model is able to derive the optimal scheduling scheme in the worst-case scenario and to control its conservatism flexibly.
