Examine the Impact of Polydemithylsiloxane and Aluminum Oxide's Modified with Lithium, Silver, Magnesium, and Manganese Ions Composition on the Function of Mesenchymal Stem Cells and Fibroblasts

Metal ions can have anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects. This makes it possible to create hygiene products, including powders, that reduce skin irritation and inhibit the growth of microorganisms on the skin and in skin wounds. The aim of this study was to evaluate the cytotoxicity of aluminum oxide and polydimethylsiloxane composition with metal ion modified surface against mesenchymal stem cells and fibroblasts. The intracellular activity of NADPH-N-dependent oxidoreductase was evaluated using the MTT assay. Modification of the surface of the composition with lithium ions increases the viability of mesenchymal stem cells and fibroblasts, treatment of the surface of the composition with silver ions leads to a 20% decrease in cell viability. Sorption of magnesium or manganese ions onto the surface of the aluminum oxide and polydimethylsiloxane composition does not affect cell viability, but the combination of magnesium or manganese ions with lithium ions results in an increase in fibroblast viability.
