Design of a Programmable Delay CMOS Ring Oscillator

This contribution describes the analysis, design, and simulation of a CMOS NOT-based 21-stage ring oscillator. One of the main objectives is to introduce programmability into the ring's configuration, enabling the oscillator to exhibit a discrete spectrum of frequencies, valuable for data conversion applications. as a proof of concept, and then utilize the digital design flow (using a library of basic cells) to develop an integrated circuit for manufacturing in 130nm technology.
