Observer-Based Finite-Time Disturbance Rejection Control for Dynamic Wireless Charging Systems With Constant Output Voltage Regulation

This article presents a novel scheme for regulating the output voltage in dynamic wireless charging systems (DWCSs) of electric vehicles (EVs) based on an advanced disturbance observer. During the dynamic wireless charging process, the EV charging systems encounter multisource uncertainties, including the variation of coupling coefficient and load, model nonlinearities and uncertainties, unmodeled dynamics, parasitic resistance, parametric drift, and electromagnetic interference. To address these challenges, an observer-based finite-time control scheme is proposed to implement voltage disturbance rejection control with dynamics improvement and fluctuation damping. Specifically, a finite-time extended state observer is developed to estimate the unknown uncertainty. Next, a finite-time state error feedback control law is designed by incorporating a nonlinear tracking differentiator and estimated information. This control law generates the desired control signal for the control circuit of the DWCSs. Furthermore, we prove that all state error signals are ultimately uniformly bounded within finite time. One key advantage of the proposed scheme is its exceptional performance in voltage tracking and fluctuation damping by introducing finite-time convergence theory. The effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed control scheme for constant output voltage regulation of the DWCSs are verified via simulation and experimental results.
