Planning of an industrial process microgrid powered entirely by renewable energy sources

The development of industry has been constrained by its massive energy demands. However, the massive curtailment of renewable energy (RE) means an enormous amount of electricity is in a crisis of being wasted. Therefore, this article proposes a framework for an industrial process microgrid (IPMG) powered entirely by RE to help deal with the two issues. In addition, a two-stage scheduling-planning model is designed to search for the optimal economic planning solution for the IPMG, which includes both the electricity storage station (ESS) establishment cost and RE usage rate. Finally, several cases demonstrate the necessity of establishing the IPMG powered entirely by RE.
