Optimal Control of Aero-engine Systems Based on a Switched LPV Model with Constraints

This paper presents an optimal control strategy which includes the optimal switching instants and the optimal control input to solve the optimal control problem of aero-engine system with constraints. Firstly, according to the change of external flight conditions, a switched LPV model with different altitudes and Mach numbers is established for aero-engines. Then, the form of optimal control problem is given. By using the parametric method, the optimal control problem is transformed into an equivalent nonlinear programming problem, which can be solved by SQP method. Finally, an example is provided to show the effectiveness. Simulation results indicate the employed SQP method used in this paper can achieve the better performance than the interior-point method in solving nonlinear programming problems.
