A data-based architecture of smart workshop based on multi-intelligent units

With the development of industry 4.0, the vision of building a smart workshop become stronger and stronger. However, the physical system architecture of traditional workshops cannot meet the performance requirements of smart workshop (self-organizing, self-adaptation) for manufacturing system. The build of architecture of workshop is a key problem. Therefore, this paper proposes a distributed architecture of smart workshop based on multi-intelligent units (DASW-MIU). First, the smart workshop floor is divided into different manufacturing cells according to different functions. Then, this paper designs an intelligent unit for manufacturing entities to achieve the function of physical device connection, information interaction and scheduling decision. Lastly, an experimental platform is built to verify the feasibility and performance of DASW-MIU. The results show that this distributed architecture can achieve online scheduling according to real-time production data and has good scheduling performance.
