A Conversion Method from IDEF3 to Stochastic Behavior Tree

Formal description of operational task is the basis of mission planning and effectiveness evaluation. Modeling languages such as IDEF can intuitively describe the hierarchical decomposition relationship and execution process of combat tasks. However, since IDEF focuses on static process description, it is not enough to fully meet the needs of quantitative analysis and optimization of combat process. In contrast, stochastic behavior tree shows huge potentials in the quantitative analysis. This paper proposes a conversion method from IDEF3 to stochastic behavior tree. By establishing detailed conversion rules, IDEF3 can be converted into stochastic behavior tree. Taking this as the foundation, the performance analysis of task is possible. The conversion method lays the foundation for quantitative analysis of combat tasks based on stochastic behavior tree theory.
