A Joint Simulation Method with LTspice and MATLAB for EIT System Research

To improve the design efficiency of the imaging system, a joint simulation method based on LTspice and MATLAB integrated into the same EIT system is carried out. Firstly, the principles of the proposed method are explained in detail. The LTspice is used to simulate the hardware measurement circuit, and the program EIDORS by MATLAB is responsible for EIT image reconstruction. Then, by using the joint simulation method, the influence of measuring voltage signal characteristics and electrode contact impedance on the EIT imaging results was analyzed. Based on the voltage signal characteristics obtained from the joint simulation, an adaptive gain boundary voltage acquisition method was proposed. Finally, the performance of the designed EIT system using the raised method is evaluated with measuring voltage data and reconstruction image quality. The results show that the proposed boundary voltage acquisition method is beneficial to improve the accuracy of the EIT system, and the joint simulation method in this paper can also be a beneficial, more convenient way for engineers to develop other medical imaging technologies.
