Exploration and practice of guarding against icing on distribution network lines in southern region

The distribution network directly faces the power demand of large number of users, accounting for a large proportion of the entire power network, but its own level of guarding against icing is low, some of southern region distribution network line grid is still weak currently. It is particularly important to comprehensively analyze and summarize the icing d damage of the distribution network in the southern region, propose better technical and management measures for pre-disaster prevention, disaster response and post-disaster recovery, and improve the ability of the distribution network to withstand ice disasters. This paper introduces the exploration and practice of guarding against icing on distribution network lines in southern region during cold wave. The causes of damage of distribution network equipment under ice disaster are analyzed. The damaged cases of distribution network poles and lines are analyzed. The application of icing disaster prevention technology in distribution network is introduced. At present, there are still many shortcomings in guarding against icing on distribution network. In order to meet the development requirements of the essential safety of distribution lines and the intelligent power grid in China, the distribution network needs new technologies to reduce line tripping and equipment damage to meet the requirements of the medium and long-term development planning of the power grid.
