BioFi: Enabling Sustainable IoT Connectivity with BioFibre-Based Wireless Signal Enhancer

The research paper unveils the design and development of a sustainable biofibre-based signal enhancer used for wireless signal enhancement. The increasing demand for seamless wireless connectivity has led to the widespread use of signal enhancement technologies. However, conventional systems suffer from drawbacks such as high energy consumption and reliance on non-renewable materials. In response, this study proposes biofibre-based enhancers that leverage the unique properties of natural fibres such ones derived from plant leaves. These enhancers support natural beamforming phenomenon and offer lightweight, flexible, and high surface area characteristics to optimize signal reflection, absorption, and transmission. The research focuses on material selection, manufacturing techniques, and integration of biofibre-based elements into signal routing units to enhance signal propagation and coverage. Experimental evaluations demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed solution in improving signal strength across a space. The adoption of biofibre-based signal enhancers promotes eco-friendly practices and provides a more sustainable approach to wireless signal enhancement.
