Proposal of a Competency Estimation Method for Video Viewing Logs

Student evaluations are traditionally based on learning results such as test scores and productions. However, the learning process is often overlooked in these evaluations. With the rise of online classes and personalized "diverse learning", it is important for student evaluations also to be diverse. In this paper, we focus on assessing the learning process through competencies. We define behavioral models representing students’ learning styles to estimate their competencies in video viewing. We tested the validity of the defined behavioral models as competencies by calculating their correlation with student grades.
