Model Predictive Control for Stand-alone Half-bridge Inverter

With the rapid proliferation of distributed power generators within power networks, the escalating randomness and fluctuations present numerous challenges to both energy quality and the stable operation of these networks. Addressing these issues necessitates comprehensive research into the control of distributed power inverters. This not only facilitates the resolution of diverse challenges accompanying distributed power integration with the grid but also harnesses the inherent benefits of distributed power to ameliorate societal and environmental concerns, while concurrently fostering economic gains. This study aims to advance the field by introducing a model predictive control (MPC) framework tailored for a single-phase half-bridge inverter. The endeavor encompasses the development of a precise mathematical model for the inverter, followed by the formulation of control strategies for both grid-connected and stand-alone operational scenarios, rooted in the principles of MPC. The envisaged outcome is a robust control methodology, poised to exhibit superior resilience.
