Abstract:

This paper proposes a magnetic levitation (MagLev) unit which is designed based on state feedback controller with a zero-power controller for airport luggage transportation. The MagLev unit utilizes the hybrid electromagnet and permanent magnet. In terms of the state feedback controller, which inte-grates a current feedback zero-power controller, proposed to stabilize the nonlinear MagLev unit. A position servo controller is adopted to eliminate static errors. With the functionality of a zero-power controller, the Maglev unit can levitate various weights with nearly zero current. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control method.
