Difference of Treatment Efficiency by Pulse Applying Interval in Pulsed Electric Field Sterilization of Vegetable Drink

We are attempting to apply the IPEF sterilization to green juice as one of vegetable drink. Our previous studies have shown that higher electric field strength and longer pulse width, lower survival rate of microorganisms and better bactericidal effect for the green juice. To further improve the sterilization rate, difference of sterilization rate by pulse applying interval was investigated. From the results, it was found that the pulse applying interval is greatly affected in the sterilization rate. When the pulse applying interval was short, the sterilization rate increased, and when it was long, it decreased.
