A Simple Electrochemical and Ultrasound Technique for Obtaining Biocidal Antiviral, Antibacterial and Antifungal Nanoparticles of Calcium Carbonate From the Eggshell Waste

This article describes the details of a new complex method of producing calcium carbonate nanoparticles intended for its use in the industrial poultry industry as a biocidal component of nanocomposites for coating hatching eggs. The method consists in the treatment of eggshell waste particles (food industry, hatchery technologies) in an acidic electrolyte (water solution of acetic/peracetic acid) simultaneously by electrochemical method and ultrasound exposure. The resulting mixture of ultradispersed and nanosized particles of calcium carbonate has biocidal properties and is one of the ingredients of environmentally friendly “green” products for use in organic agriculture.
