Polymer Inorganic Nanocomposites for Electromagnetic Radiation Absorption Using Potassium Titanates

The aim of the article is to study potassium titanates for the production of polymer-inorganic nanocomposites with desired technological properties. The technological characteristics of polymer-inorganic composites based on polyamide, modified with potassium titanates, were determined. The selected polyamide 6 (Grodnamid PA6-L-211/311) and potassium titanates materials contain TiO2, K2CO3, and KCl received by charge sintering. Results showed that modification of polyamide 6 with sintering products in the form of a fine nanopowder of potassium titanate that contain the primary phase K2O × 4TiO2 with an admixture of a phase K2O x 4TiO2, which increased their technological properties. It was found that received polymer-inorganic composites for absorbing electromagnetic radiation can be processed by high-performance injection molding and extrusion methods according to their technological characteristics.
