Analysis of Possibilities of Using Spin-Valve Structures Based on Fex-Co1-x and FexNi1-x and Cu as Functional Elements of Spintronics

The spin-valve structures based on Fe
x
-Co
1-x
and Fe
x
-Ni
1-x
and Cu film alloys are analyzed regarding the possibilities of their use as the functional elements of spintronics. The studied structures have low saturation fields and, as a result, a high sensitivity to changes in the magnetic field that is important when they are used in the devices to record and read the information. For the Fe
x
-Ni
1-x
/Cu/Fe
x
-Ni
1-x
systems, at x > 0.3, the saturation fields are up to 5 mT. It provides a sensitivity of S
B
= (50 - 80) %/T. For the Fe
x
-Co
1-
x
/Cu/Fe
x
Co
1-x
systems, at x < 0.5, the saturation fields are up to 20 mT, and the sensitivity S
B
= (50 - 70) %/T. The advantage of the film structures based on the studied alloys is a large temporal and temperature stability of the properties. However, when manufacturing the magnetoresistive elements based on the structures with a ferrum-cobalt alloy, thermal stabilization annealing in a vacuum at a temperature of 550 K immediately after condensation of the films should be recommended. In such nanostructures, spin-dependent electron scattering is realized at the relatively small magnetic fields. They have high sensitivity to the magnetic field and temporal thermal stability. Such structures can be used to produce various devices, such as magnetic field sensors for cars, sensors of rotation angle, rotation speed, and vibration amplitude of the objects, etc.
