An Improved Parametric Model for the Simulation of Trigatron Gas Switches

Based on Monte Carlo analysis, a novel circuit model of equivalent the conduction process of trigatron spark gap is developed in software Pspice. By introducing a lognormal distribution and logical operation, breakdown under the transition working interval is simulated. Slow breakdown mode (SBM) and fast breakdown mode (FBM) could be actively converted according to wider working coefficient. With the application of semi-controlled voltage-controlled switches, self-encapsulated voltage-controlled resistances and numerous dispersive components, breakdown time delay and multinomial jitter of non-normal distribution are equivalent. The typical waveforms of simulation and experiment are basically coincident. By obtaining waveforms of repeated simulation and statistical results, the accuracy of the dispersions equivalent methods in the model could be guaranteed.
