Angular Velocity Detection of Spinning Object Based on Orbital Angular Momentum

This paper proposes a method to detect the angular velocity of spinning object using orbital angular momentum (OAM). First, the VisuShrink threshold is improved to eliminate the random noise based on wavelet denoising method. Second, multiplying the denoised signal by Kaiser window function and then using fast Fourier transform (FFT) method can acquire the rotational Doppler frequency shift of the signal. Finally, the angular velocity of spinning object can be obtained according to the rotational Doppler frequency shift. Simulation results show that the spinning object illuminated by OAM beams with mode 1 can realize the angular velocity detection in the environment containing the random noise, with the maximum relative error of 1.15%.
