Application of an Adaptive IMM Algorithm with Optimized Tracking Performance in PD Radar

In the target observation scenario of PD radar, interacting multiple model algorithm (IMM) is most widely used. The probability transfer matrix of the conventional IMM is usually based on stationary priori information, and it is not conducive to improving the tracking accuracy of the target. If the target makes a maneuver change, it may trigger a series of problems such as tracking misalignment or interruption. Therefore, this paper proposed a method to adaptively modify Markov probability transfer matrix in real time. In addition, a fuzzy control system is added to redistribute the probabilities of each model, this will improve tracking accuracy for maneuvering targets. The simulation results show that the tracking accuracy of the algorithm in this paper is improved by 19.63% compared with the conventional IMM algorithm.
