Transesophageal ultrasound prototype development for the treatment of pancreatic cancer

Pancreatic cancer (PDAC) has a poor prognosis and limited treatment options. Focused ultrasound has shown potential for improving PDAC treatment outcomes by enhancing drug delivery through acoustic cavitation. In this work, we present the development of an early prototype of an endoscopic ultrasound device capable of producing high focal pressure with ultrasound imaging for treatment guidance. Ongoing research and development aim to further improve the device and explore its potential as a potentiator of chemotherapeutic treatment for PDAC.
