Light-rotating ring-shape photoacoustic tomography system

In low-cost photoacoustic imaging devices, the power of the laser source is usually constrained. Balancing the illumination area and light intensity is, therefore, important for high quality photoacoustic signal acquisition. In this work, we show that with the same laser power, one can trade temporal resolution for light intensity with appropriate arrangement of optical path in a ring-shape photoacoustic tomography system. The validity of our method is verified on an agar phantom experiment.
