Noninvasive ultrahigh-frequency ultrafast Doppler imaging for blood flow of the whole-central nervous system in newborn rats

Recent advances have highlighted the potential of functional blood flow imaging in the central nervous system to study neonatal neurodevelopment. While ultrafast Doppler has successfully imaged blood flow in the brain and spinal cord separately, noninvasive imaging of blood flow across the whole-central nervous system remains a challenge. In this study, we first validated the feasibility of ultrafast Doppler for noninvasive whole-central nervous system blood flow imaging in newborn rats, indicating it’s a valuable method for studying neonatal neurodevelopment.
