Research on Energy Loss of Unmanned Surface Vehicle Based on NMEA2000 Ship Network

Unmanned Surface Vehicle(USV) has the ability to navigate autonomously, sense and explore, making them a new research hit.The energy usage rate of USV directly affects their own load capacity and operating time. The paper studies the effects of wind and wave currents and power electronic devices on the energy loss of USV. Based on the NMEA2000 protocol, a ship network is designed to connect the battery management system, anemoclinograph, water flow sensor, Global Positioning System (GPS) and Inertia Measurement Unit (IMU). The relationship between battery energy loss and wind, wave currents, power electronic devices is analyzed using multiple linear regression. The paper finally obtains that wind speed and wind direction have the most influence on the energy loss of USV and contributs to the research of USV ship network.
