Identifying an Oil Production Model on a Shale Well (Based on Data from the North Dakota State)

A database was developed for month-by-month oil production and well’s oil rates for shale wells. For each oil well, the initial well’s oil rate and the oil production decline rates are identified. Oil companies can use the model for estimating residual recoverable oil reserves for a given well, according to the dynamics in the first few months of the actual well’s oil rates.
