A Novel Dual-Band Modified Inset-Fed Rectangular Antenna with Parasitic Structure and Different Slots for K-Band and 39GHz mm Wave Applications

A novel dual band microstrip modified rectangular antenna for microwave access with different types of slots and parasitic structure has been analyzed in this research article and can be deployed I 5 infrastructure enviornment. The proposed antenna radiating electromagnetic energy is designed on a 0.254mm thick Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 substrate. The dual band peaks of the proposed antenna are centered on the frequency 20.55GHz and 39.22GHz (ku-band and mmWave) technology with the return loss of -25.79dB and -32.11dB respectively. The proposed antenna with transmission of EM wave is designed using HFSS and its electromagnetic analysis has been done. The single element converts the bounded energy into EM waves with a very high efficiency and gain. The proposed antenna has highly compact dimensions of 6×6×0.254 mm

,which makes it suitable for compact 5G devices. Our proposed structure offers good real and imaginary impedance of 50 ohm and 0 ohm respectively. The proposed antenna offers a gain of 6.12dBi and 3.85dBi gain at 20GHz and 39GHz respectively. The design evolution of the proposed structure has been discussed in detail in this article which lists all the enhancement techniques used and their impact on the return loss. The final structure's numerous parameters are analyzed like VSWR, Reflection coefficients, E-plane and H-plane 2-D radiation pattern.
