Hybrid Integration of Active III-V on Standard SOI Photonic Platform Based with GACC Methods

The hybrid integrated photonic platform with grating-assisted codirectional coupler (GACC) is proposed to improve light coupling from an active III-V device to a standard SOI waveguide. The coupling efficiency could achieve 90% even when the III-V and SOI chips are bonded with a 100-nm thick adhesive layer.
