Biosensing application of surface-plasmon tip-tapered fiber with gold nanoparticles to albumin detection

Surface-plasmon tip-tapered fiber with gold nanoparticles is newly verified as remote biosensors at 1550nm-wavelength range by modifying SAM/antibody on gold nanoparticles, extended from conventional refractive-index sensors. The measurement was performed by changing albumin-antigen concentrations, and the associated wavelength-shifts by surface-plasmon absorption were observed, confirming the effectiveness as biosensing.
