For Loderay Bracero Marrero, the expression might as well be, “When you see a door, open it.” The Ph.D., IEEE volunteer, and interdisciplinary climate change researcher has not been shy about asking for a chance when she sees an opportunity, a tactic that has helped further her studies, her career, and her community—because that same initiative connected her to an impactful role as a volunteer with IEEE’s MOVE program.
