Dynamic transmission of terahertz waves through BiFeO3 film under out of plane applied bias

We have experimentally studied the multiferroic BiFeO
3
(BFO) film by engaging Terahertz Time Domain Spectroscopy (THz-TDS) under externally provided longitudinal bias. Through our experiments, we have observed that the amplitude of THz radiation is dynamically modulated in the frequency range of 0.2-1 THz. This modulation can be attributed to the alignment of ferro-electric domains under the applied bias (0 to 600 kV cm$^{-1}$), resulting in an amplitude modulation of around 10%.
