Generation and Spectrum Analysis of C Band ASE Using Erbium-Doped Fibers with Different Properties

In C band light source generating, self-amplified emission (Amplified spontaneous Emission - ASE) is usually used. For this, erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFA) are operated without an input signal. In this paper, 3 different EDFA setups and 7 different erbium-doped fibers in each of these setups generated ASE along the C band. The real factory parameters of the erbium-doped fibers (EDFs) used in these setups used in the simulation environment were created as data files and the accuracy of the simulation was increased. After the setups were simulated, the average output power and ripple values were optimized along the C band and the EDF, and the setup that gave the best spectrum was determined.
