Peak Age of Information Minimization for Integrated Sensing, Communication and Computation in IoV

Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) has been regarded as a promising technology in Internet of Vehicles (IoV). The freshness of data in IoV is significant for some applications, such as autonomous driving. Age of information (AoI) is an important indicator measuring the freshness of information in recent years. In this paper, we propose a sensing-communication-computation (SCC) scheme and Partial-Offloading SCC (PO-SCC) scheme for a dual-function radar-communication-enabled vehicle to detect a single target, considering the vehicle’s computation capability. For the effectiveness of sensing information, we introduce a new indicator, peak AoI (PAoI), in the proposed SCC and PO-SCC schemes to formulate optimization problems. We first design the transmit beamforming matrix by maximizing the minimum SINR when the radar performance is satisfied. Then, time resource allocation is optimized to minimize the PAoI by mixed integer programming. Simulation results prove that the proposed schemes perform better than other schemes.
