Coherent Direction Finder Model with Quadrature Signal Processing in the HF Band

As with all intelligence-gathering disciplines, electronic intelligence is being conducted constantly. The main goal is to facilitate the commander's decision-making process. From many potential objects of interest, Over-the-Horizon radars represent objects of high value, mostly because being part of ballistic missile early warning systems for long-range detection. During multiple steps of electronic intelligence, the detection and subsequent location of a threat are the most important ones. This paper is focused on utilizing different algorithms for Over-the-Horizon radar direction-finding systems. The main contribution is in the design of the model, where multiple algorithms are implemented and then evaluated. Based on the results, it is possible to choose the best method for the current situational scenario.
