Exploring Ingest Pattern of University Students Living At Home And Away From Homes: A Case of Kumaun Region

The intent of the research is to interrogate the differences in food consumption patterns between university students who live at home and those who live away from home in India's Kumaun region, using a qualitative approach. The study will gather data through interviews and focus groups with both groups of students, totaling 400 undergraduate and postgraduate students from private and government universities aged between 17 and 26 years. An online questionnaire will be used to collect data on how the student’s eating habits are influenced by their families, friends, and the availability of food. Furthermore, the study's qualitative approach will enable the researchers to gather rich and nuanced data that can notify the occurrence of certain interventions to improve the dietary habits of students. Collectively, this exploration has the potential to frame a expressive offering to our comprehension of the nutritive customs of university students in India's Kumaun region. By providing insights into the factors that influence food consumption patterns among these students and will furnish wisdom for policy maker both in state level and central level to promote healthier eating habits and overall well-being within the student population residing in Kumaun region.
