Performance Evaluation of High Efficient based Soft Switching Step Down DC-DC Converter for Battery Charging in Electric Vehicles

This topology deals with ZVS soft switching based synchronous step-down DC-DC converter during switching transitions. The implementation of an active unidirectional auxiliary circuit allows for the achievement of soft switching conditions in the synchronous leg switches. As a result, this effectively reduces the stress or burden on the switches, thus ameliorating overall converter efficiency. This proposed topology can be used for battery charging in EV applications. The paper provides an intricate analysis and explanation of the operational aspects of the proposed topology. Additionally, the results are assessed via Simulink/MATLAB platform and verified experimentally.
