Half-Mode Substrate Integrated Waveguide-Based Band Stop Filter for Static Target Detection in X-Band

Half-mode substrate integrated waveguide-based bandpass filter is designed for static target detection in X-band. The bandwidth of the band-stop filter (BSF) is increased by 1.5GHz i.e., the passband is from 6.5 GHz to 12 GHz. The insertion loss in the passband is 0.3 dB. When slots equivalent to a quarter wavelength are cut on the same bandpass filter, a selective BSF with passbands at 8.4, 10.4, and 12.4GHz is obtained. The target of interest can be monitored effectively when transmitted pulses encrypted with the secretive message, when correlated at the receiving side only regenerates pulses at three frequencies namely 8.4GHz, 10.4GHz, and 12.4GHz respectively. The algorithm has been written and tested successfully in MATLAB.
