Design Principles for Pedogogical Improvisation

Post Covid, the need for interactive learning management system has become indispensable for teaching and learning. Appreciating the challenges that are associated with usage of such tools is significantly a need of the hour. As African Universities that offer science and engineering courses are shifting their teaching paradigm towards the blended mode, it is critical to identify and address the challenges faced by the instructors in African educational setting, such as those observed in this study to compete with rest of the world and provide quality education. This study was conducted in a post-secondary education service provider in Botswana, using evaluation questionnaires that were responded by instructors of various levels, who were the users of Backboard. It is found that the instructors were able to appreciate the tool's purpose. However, the study also recognized need for more training and identified the issues due to poor internet service to enhance effective application of Blackboard.
