A Study of Effective Strategies for Personal Development and Success for Software Engineers

Our goal was to read the book “Bounce: Mozart, Federer, Picasso, Beckham, and the Science of Success” by Matthew Syed, and study the strategies for success in order to find out whether any of the strategies could be used for success and personal growth of software engineers. To achieve this goal, we conducted a comprehensive literature review and performed an experiment. The aim of the experiment was to test one of the strategies for success. This strategy talks about the importance of feedback on individuals' approach to challenging tasks, and claims that a growth mindset can be developed through deliberate feedback. As a result of our research, we provide insights into the factors that contribute to success in software engineering field, and suggest strategies that can help software engineers achieve their goals and maximize their potential.
