Modeling of Silver Nanoparticle Under the Effect of Blood Flow

a numerical simulation of a silver nanoparticle under the effect of blood flow is conducted using computational fluid dynamics. The nature of the laminar fluid is studied in the presence of 10 nm, 100 nm, and 200 nm spherical and triangular silver nanoparticles. Numerical simulations are conducted and compared when studied in a rectangular and circular capillary respectively. For the nanoparticle shape the results showed that the spherical nanoparticle allowed the flow to form a fully developed velocity profile for all three sizes. Whereas, for the capillary geometry it showed that the velocity under a rectangular geometry was able to reach a fully developed laminar flow, and showed a normal velocity distribution, where the flow does not deviate from the provided dimensions and maintains a steady profile for all nanoparticle sizes. The velocity profile, contour, and pressure contour study showed that a spherical nanoparticle placed in a rectangular geometry is a good model for the blood flow behavior. The 10 nm size showed to have the best blood velocity profile.
