Development of C/X/Ku-Band High Power Helix Traveling-Wave Tube

This paper describes a 6–18 GHz high-power pulse traveling-wave tube (TWT) developed by Nanjing Sanle Group Co., Ltd, and mainly presents the performance that can be achieved in hot-test experiments at present. This fabricated helix TWT is the continuation of further work based on the previous 8-18GHz 5 kW-level packaged TWT. The high-power prototype TWT has demonstrated over 5.2 kW pulse output power cover 6-17GHz, 4.9 kW-level pulse output power over 17–18 GHz, and the 250 W-average power in the full frequency band.
