Abstract:
The omnichannel system serves as a method for businesses to seamlessly connect with multiple marketplaces via a unified platform. Previous applications and studies related to omnichannel systems in Indonesia have encountered challenges such as dealing with errors and being limited in the number of marketplaces that can be incorporated, primarily due to the standard client-server architecture that they use. This study aims to demonstrate that adopting the event-driven architecture for the omnichannel system can solve the fault tolerance and extendibility challenges encountered in previous research and applications. The result of the research shows that an event-driven omnichannel system is fault tolerant to errors from inside and outside the system while being expendable in enabling the installation of new services to suit the integration of more marketplaces into the system.
