Isotropic Radiation Coverage in IoT: Water Drop-Shaped Ultra-Wideband Antenna

This paper presents a compact water drop shaped ultra-wideband planar antenna designed specifically for IoT applications. The antenna is optimized to achieve a wide impedance bandwidth and efficient isotropic radiation patterns. With overall dimensions of 152 mm × 152 mm, the compact size of the antenna allows for easy integration into IoT devices. Through simulations, the proposed antenna demonstrates a wide operating frequency range from 2 GHz to 14 GHz, covering the entire UWB frequency range. The antenna exhibits excellent radiation characteristics, including stable radiation patterns, satisfactory gain, and acceptable return loss, ensuring reliable and isotropic coverage in all directions. This feature makes the antenna ideal for IoT devices that require seamless wireless communication in diverse orientations.
