A SoC architecture compatible with Cortex-M4

ARM Cortex-M4 is a powerful and widely used processor core in the market today and is favored by many chip companies. This paper designs a SoC chip compatible with the ARM Cortex-M4 core, which is functionally rich and versatile with the core as the centrepiece, connecting multiple general-purpose peripherals and using the AHB and APB buses. This paper analyses the key points of the design process around the overall design architecture of the SoC chip, and introduces the Cortex-M4-based on-chip network structure, on-chip memory mapping method, interrupt system and interrupt priority division, clock network structure, and peripheral and bus connection methods. The SoC chip designed in this paper has been successfully flowed, and the functional tests on the flowed chip have all passed, verifying that the SoC chip is correctly designed and can be used in many fields such as industrial and automotive applications.
