Min BCI algorithm for PRF Design

In pulsed Doppler radar, the use of a single pulse repetition frequency will cause a blind zone on the distance-velocity map detected by the radar, and the use of a set of pulse repetition frequencies can effectively reduce the blind zone. The design of pulse repetition frequencies combination will directly affect the effect of reducing the blind zone, but due to the large number of different combinations, the problem of selecting the most ideal pulse repetition frequencies set is NP hard. you can only search for the desired solution in a certain way within the feasible domain through constraints and optimization objectives. Evolutionary algorithms are widely used in the selection of pulse repetition rate combinations, but due to the non-convexity of the problem, this method is blind and computational complexity. In this regard, this paper proposes a minimum blind zone center spacing (Min-BCI) algorithm, based on the principle of blind zone formation, it is believed that the entire blind zone is composed of several strip-like blind zones in the time domain and frequency domain, each strip blind zone has a center, and in the time domain and frequency domain these centers are periodically appearing, by setting the minimum value of the tolerable blind zone center interval, the blind zone of different pulse repetition frequencies is staggered as much as possible, and the appropriate pulse repetition frequencies combination is found in order from large to small according. The search range of the desired solution is reduced by the constraints of the minimum dead zone center interval and the order determination of the pulse repetition frequency within the set. Simulation results show that the minimum blind zone center interval method finds a feasible solution faster and more accurately, and has significant advantages over the evolutionary algorithm in terms of convergence speed and pulse repetition rate combination.
