Autonomous Power Supply System Based on Gas Turbine Units of the Compressor Station

The advantages of using synchronous generators driven by gas turbine compressor set are highlighted. Possible problems and tasks are noted based on already known studies. The article describes a version of the gas turbine compressor set with a permanent magnets synchronous generator and a frequency converter for stabilizing the output voltage and frequency for the needs of an autonomous power supply system. The created simulation model in MATLAB environment with Simulink extension package is considered. The model allowed to research of transient processes in the system of autonomous electric power supply on the basis of synchronous generator on permanent magnets. The results of investigation of the simulation model when changing the load and rotation speed of the generator drive shaft are given. Based on the research, conclusions were drawn. The problem of power quality on the generator stator due to the use of a frequency converter is considered. The invention proposes a version of mitigation negative impact of the frequency converter on the generator at change of the rotor rotation speed, due to the installation of an active rectifier and regulation of its operation using vector control. The results of analysis of THD in generator stator voltage are presented.
