Method for Calculating the Traction Electric Drive of a Vehicle with a Combined Energy Storage

This article presents the results of a study of the traction electric drive of a vehicle with a combined drive. The advantages and prospects for the use of capacitive energy storage devices of various types (electrostatic and electrolytic capacitors, capacitors with an electric double layer, (pseudocapacitors, hybrid capacitors) in various vehicle systems are shown. The analysis of the movement of the vehicle in the urban cycle is carried out. A mathematical model of the process of vehicle movement and a model of a capacitor bank in the MatLab Simulink environment were developed, which made it possible to determine the main parameters of the power elements of the vehicle's electric drive, such as storage and capacitor banks; traction synchronous three-phase electric motor with permanent magnets. A technical and economic evaluation of the effectiveness of the use of a capacitive energy storage device in comparison with a storage battery has been carried out. The application of the developed technique allows to improve the operational properties of both the onboard energy storage device and the wheeled vehicle as a whole.
