Influence of Distribution Network Concentrated Inhomogeneities on Traveling Wave Propagation Speed

The paper presents the influence of concentrated inhomogeneities of the distribution network on traveling wave (TW) propagation speed and transient signal's (TS) duration. A simulation model of a simple overhead single-wire transmission line 10 km long with an ideal voltage source of 10 kV is used. The concentrated inhomogeneity was represented in the form of capacitance and a branch, at the end of which the idle mode and capacitive load were formed. The results of propagation modeling of voltage spike's TW at different time scales are presented. TS shaping in different points of the electric network of one and the same switching event is shown.
