Two and Three-Dimensional Physical Fields of Electrical Machines High-Performance Computing

The author deals with the challenge of evaluating the effectiveness as far as the application of the numerical- analytical method of standard elements in three-dimensional field calculations of electrical devices is concerned. The main features of the standard element method are described, which makes it possible to perform a high-performance calculation of the field in such systems. A formalized procedure for replacing the area of electrical devices with standard elements with known analytical solutions of boundary value problems is presented. The three- dimensional magnetic field of a magnetic system with permanent magnets has been calculated by means of the finite element and the standard element methods. The form of the functional corresponding to the boundary value problem is given as the sum of integrals over surfaces introduced into the computational domain of standard elements in the form of parallelepipeds. It is shown that the use of the method of standard elements allows providing high-performance calculations of the field distribution due to a radical reduction in the degree of sampling in the framework of computational domain, minimization of the amount of calculations, and the use of well-known analytical boundary solutions in standard elements. Comparative estimates of the accuracy and efficiency of the standard element method as related to the finite element method have been obtained. The perspectives of applying as well as the high performance of the method of standard elements in the calculations of the physical fields of electrical devices have been proved.
