Comparative Study Regarding Radiative Cooling Systems

Radiative heating and cooling systems have seen a considerable increase in use lately, not only in residential but also in commercial buildings, due to their high comfort level, their lower noise level and the higher ability to integrate them within the building architecture, when compared to others. These systems can use renewable energy sources, ensuring that the heating is achieved with low-temperature hot water and the cooling with high-temperature cold water. This paper is meant to conduct a comparative study of the energy consumption for a radiative cooling system of a space, for a floor, ceiling or wall system, by using the COOLPACK specialized program. At the same time, this paper is addressed to students, with a view to analyzing the phenomenon of heat transfer through radiation.
